Our mission is to create the best infant sleeping experience through research and innovation.
Our goal is to help lower the infant mortality rate in Alabama.
Imagine a baby swaddle designed by parents for their own baby. It is completely safe to use, it actually helps sleep, and it is made with fabric made in the USA.
Southern Swaddle was born in 2016 as the result of a simple idea: soft baby swaddles, made with fabric from the USA. Husband and wife team Adam and Miriah started sewing products by hand and refining them until they were ready for the market. Southern Swaddle is the curation of their effort to create the best baby products for their little one.
It all started when we started looking for the first swaddle for our baby. We did the research most new parents do, not having a clue about what we needed or what was important. Our journey on finding a safe swaddle quickly became filled with bad reviews, cheap fabric squares, and safety horrors. We had no idea that looking for a swaddle would end with us feeling overwhelmed and confused.
We set out to design and build a swaddle we would use on our own baby. After much drawing, designing, frustration, and sewing, we have crafted the swaddle we are proud to call our own. We also decided to use fabric and materials only from the United States.
Miriah Brink Owner | Southern Swaddle
Miriah grew up in Florence, and has called Alabama home all of her life. After graduating from Wilson High School in 2011, she moved to Tuscaloosa to attend the University of Alabama. Roll Tide! She graduated in 2015 with a BA in Psychology, and after taking a semester off, she realized that she wasn’t finished with school just yet. In the summer of 2016, she started working on a business degree at the Culverhouse School of Business.
Adam Brink Operations | Southern Swaddle
Adam is a Florence native who was raised in Cloverdale. He developed a love for nature early on, whether it was running from cows, hiking trails, or going camping. After starting a speaker box business in high school, he knew that entrepreneurship was in his blood. Fast-forward many odd jobs, failed businesses, and a business degree later, and Southern Swaddle was born.
